EA kills off online passes for future games

TravisSch stopped by yesterday to tell us that Electronic Arts is discontinuing the use of online passes for future games. EA was one of a few publishers who used these online passes to restrict gamers from accessing the multiplayer if they purchased a used copy of the game.

EA’s John Reseburg admitted to VentureBeat that the online pass initiative wasn’t well received by their customers and are making this change to address their feedback.

Will this move redeem EA in the eyes of gamers picking up second-hand games? Let us know your thoughts in our discussion thread!
