Games with Gold for December 2017
« on: November 23, 2017, 03:21:01 PM »

The new batch of free games coming next month have been announced. As always, the Xbox One games are yours to keep as long as you have a current Gold membership. The 360 titles are available on Xbox One through the backwards compatibility program and are yours to keep even if you drop to Silver status.

Starting off the month of December is Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide. This is a Hack & Slash title from the first-person perspective, and shares some similarities to titles like Skyrim. Picking up on the 16th will be Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition. One of Telltale Games’ earlier titles that picks up where the third movie ends.

The world is ending… though few believe it. The once proud city of Ubersreik now stands in ruin at the hands of the dreaded Skaven army. Few have survived their ruthless invasion. Team up with 3 friends and work together to thin out the ratmen’s forces and drive them out of the city. Assume the role of one of five heroes, and hack, slash, smash, burn and pierce the vile Skaven using a multitude of weapons. Fight your way through the city of Ubersreik, from the top of the Magnus Tower to the bowels of the Under Empire. This is our last stand and only you can stem the Vermintide.

Six months after Back to the Future Part III, the DeLorean time machine mysteriously returns to Hill Valley – driverless! Marty McFly must once again go back in time, or else the space-time continuum will be forever unraveled! Featuring Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown, Tom Wilson as Biff Tannen, and Claudia Wells as Jennifer Parker, with a special appearance by Michael J. Fox, and introducing A.J. LoCascio voicing Marty McFly. Created in cooperation with movie series Co-Writer and Producer, Bob Gale. Includes an exclusive retrospective behind the scenes video, featuring an interview with Bob Gale, and others involved in the creation of the game!

Available for the 360 on the first will be Child of Eden. This is a music and rhythm game that featured the 360 Kinect, but it can use a controller instead. Just note that an Xbox One Kinect is not compatible with 360 Kinect titles. Closing out the month will be Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death. Honestly, I have never heard of this and can’t tell what it’s really about. It doesn’t look very good.

One of the most anticipated games of 2011 for Kinect. Winner of 9 awards at E3 for innovative graphics, music, and gameplay. Child of Eden is the “multi-sensory shooter” that will send players diving into a visual matrix of synchronized music and mind-blowing visuals. It will usher forth yet another landmark game experience from the mind of renowned game designer Tetsuya Mizuguchi.

A new breed of WARRIOR returns, committed to destroying the enemies of FREEDOM! No-nonsense hero Marlow never shied away from danger or trouble. But now he faces his ULTIMATE challenge. Blasting into Central America, he has an industrial evil to defeat whilst bound to an ancient Mayan Death Mask who’s had no-one to talk to for 2000 years. With cliffhanger over the top action and cinematic gameplay, Marlow Briggs takes inspiration from the best of blockbuster films, comic book heroes, and action games with its focus on relentless high-octane combat, exotic and danger filled environments and epic set pieces.
