  • Many gaming communities start with just a few people and last only a short time. It’s rare to find one of those that is still around a decade after being created. While some credit goes to the leadership over the years, it would never be possible without the community members we’ve had. From the spam thread regulars, to the achievement team captains, to the lurkers that slowly come out of hiding, we thank you all for being part of this journey.

As you can see on the original Bungie.net group page we passed the 10 year mark yesterday, May 8th. If you happen to be in the mood for looking back at the past there was an old set of videos that caught my eye by Dark Infinity you can see here. Take a tour of SIP from the old days to see our motto in action. Make friends, Blow stuff up and unlock achievements!

  • Ten years. And I think I've been around for most of them, if only lurking

  • I remember joining only a few days before the transition from B.net to this cozy corner of the web. Nostalgia.

The SIP Archive holds a lot of video gems.

Dusted off this classic. Sit back & relax.

  • Geez 10 years!?

Any chance of a Q and A with some of the oldest members / Mahdi?

  • Any chance of a Q and A with some of the oldest members / Mahdi?

Mahdi has been completely unreachable for several years so there's no way we can get that to happen.

I don't know if we can get a proper Q and A post, but I'm sure we can try to get some answers to questions the newer members might have. There's still a few of us from 2009 that visit frequently. Seth and Tango, I believe, are the last of the 08 crowd.

If anyone has questions for the old guard send the list to me in a message. Let's see what happens.

  • That would be cool I’d like to know more of SIP’s history and old members

  • I'm still around and have been around quite a while. I would be up for some Q&A.

  • I can't even remember when I joined. Possibly 09/10? Been a mainstay for me, even if I don't post as much. Feels like coming home

I'm almost certain you joined a few weeks before me, and I joined in March or April of 09. Right around the time SIP was on the front page of B.net.

It looks like we have a few (old) people willing to answer questions, but there aren't any questions. Feel free to change that.

  • Been a great ride! Might not post as much as my old spammin self, but I still check in regularily like it's home. Love this group and everything it's done for me and its many visitors over time.

I'll kick off a question for ya'll, what made you first look up/find SIP? How'd you find the group? Always like hearing those kinds of stories.

  • I saw a post offering help with the Halo 3 Annual Achievement. I joined to get help with that. Once in I found a group people willing to put up with me long term. I ended up Joining and later leading the Brigade, helping with ODST 200k Firefight bleep bloops.
