The Spartan I Project (SIP) respects your privacy. This document describes our policy relating to the personal information that is received by us. If you have any concerns about privacy, contact us at thespartan1project@gmail.com.

Information Collected
SIP's server automatically records information when you visit our website, including your IP address and hostname, referring/landing/exit pages, browser type, and number of page views. This information is used to analyze trends, administer the website, track visitors' movement around the website, and collect demographic information. Such analytic information is not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. Your IP address and hostname may be used in the event you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of the forum rules, code of conduct or registration agreement.

SIP's forum software places a cookie (a text file containing bits of information such as your username and password) in your browser's cache. This is only used to keep you logged in as a member.

At the time of registration, you are required to enter a valid personal e-mail address. This is required to activate your account and for members of the moderation and administrative staff to notify you of updates to the forum or website. If you choose to report a post to the moderators or e-mail another member, your e-mail address will be revealed to the recipient(s).

We also retain information you voluntarily choose to enter in your profile. Your profile information may be reviewed periodically by moderation and administrative staff for accuracy and conformance to the forum rules and code of conduct.

Uses by Third Parties
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve advertisements on SIP. Google's use of the DoubleClick DART cookie enables it to serve advertisements to our site's visitors based on their visits to SIP and other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting Google's advertising opt-out page.

Under limited circumstances we may share personal information with third parties, including complying with legal matters and also ensuring the security of our site and its services.

Your Options
If you want to report a post to the moderators or contact another member without revealing your e-mail address to them, use the personal messaging system.

Personal information fields in your profile, outside of the necessary information to register your account, are entirely optional and at your discretion to provide. Moreover, your e-mail address can be hidden from the view of regular members and guests using features made available by the forum software. If you do not wish to provide your e-mail address at all, do not register to post on SIP.

Updates to this Policy
We may occasionally update this policy. When the changes are significant, notification will be made either on the Announcements board (or its equivalent) or in a SIP Weekly Update (as published on the Weekly Updates board or its equivalent). We encourage you to periodically review this policy to be informed as to how we are collecting, using, and disclosing your personal information.

Consent
By continuing to use our website, you consent to our privacy policy and agree to its terms.
