what happened to the "let us solve the raid ourselves this time" idea

-blam!- that -blam!-. If I wasn't running for my life against OP enemies, I might have taken more time to browse around.

After watching somebody's video of their raid last night. Would rather know what needs to be done in the Raid... their video went on for 7 1/2 hours (trust me, I watched an hour before deciding to come off the video).

I will eventually be interested in doing a run. I had 2 items in my inventory Tuesday which will allow me to get up to 30.5 (with Vault Chest and Gauntlets).
That Hard Vault Helmet is still top of my wish list even if it will hold me back from 32.

I will keep an eye out for you guys doing the run and look out for available slots.

Saw a video of Crota's End done in 30 minutes. Team was comprised of 5 31s and a 30.

Same strategy as we used for the first section, done in 8 minutes.

Executed the bridge section same as us, just smoother. The 31s can drop the Knights in 4 swipes of the sword.

It's all about your level, changes everything.

Want to run this tonight and finish it.

Okay, here's the strategy for Crota after watching several videos of teams that did it successfully.

First, it's all about timing and DPS.

The sword wielder needs to stay VERY close to Crota to be within striking distance. You need to be on him as soon as his shield pop and he takes a knee. 2-3 Gjallahorns need to go out simultaneously as the swordweilder hits the platform to hit Crota. The best combo for attacking him in terms of damage and timing is RB, RB, RB, RT. From what I've seen, no other combo including super does the trick and gets you out alive.

When Crota gets back up, EVERYONE needs to shoot him immediately to put him back down. We all need to hang out, as a team, in top left. You use the room to reload. There seems to be minimal enemy traffic up top.
The swordweilder MUST stay close enough to be back in on him and hit him again.

Apparently it takes between 20-25 strikes from the sword to kill him. So, 4 shots (RB, RB, RB, RT), two times per sword wield is eight total hits. So, a minimum of three sword wields if run perfectly.

The swordweilder does not pick up the sword until Crota arrives in a spot. If he's been hang in out somewhere we wait to see if he's going to move.

During Ogres, we ALL run to lower mid. Far back to kill them.

Also, everyone needs to keep eyes on towers to hit Knights or they'll blast the swordweilder.

Has anyone tried making that first drop on their Sparrow?  I'm wondering if you survived the drop with it could you speed through the lamp section. Although I doubt it works because I'm sure we would have see a video for it already.

Also, everyone needs to keep eyes on towers to hit Knights or they'll blast the sword wielder.
This. My group positions an Icebreaker equipped guardian on each side upper platform (inside the room - left and right) to shoot the knights while everyone else is below killing the swordbearer. I found it best to put one headshot into each knight first and wait to finish them off just as the sword wielder is about to attack Crota. When it's "Ogre Time" the snipers head down, lower mid to help. So, one shot to the knights and just as the Sword bearer approaches take out the knights and then focus fire on Crotas shield. We got so close to taking him down last night, we just need 3 clean runs. Hopefully tonight!

Looks like I need to keep levelling up before I work on this raid then. Or at least get some better weapons.

But, I'm free for the next week and a half, so if anyone needs help, let me know.
