Call of Duty: WWII Revealed
« on: April 26, 2017, 03:34:42 PM »

Activision announced today that Call of Duty: WWII, developed by Sledgehammer Games will release for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 3. Players who decide to Pre-Order the game will get access to a private beta later this year, which will be available first on PS4. Activision shared some details on the single-player campaign, the solo chapter of the game will follow U.S. Army private Ronald “Red” Daniels as he and the other members of the U.S. 1st Infantry Division fight throughout World War II’s European theater, primarily during 1944 and 1945.

As for the location of the game, it will take place in Europe. Some of the places players will play on are the famed beaches of Normandy (AkA D-Day), as well as scenes set during the liberation of Paris before the Division finds its way to Germany (Battle of the Bulge). Two of World War II’s Infamous/Iconic moments in all human history will be featured in the game. If you don’t know these Iconic moments you can watch the movie “Saving Private Ryan” to see the beaches of Normandy, Tom Hanks is one of the main characters in the movie. As for the cast Josh Duhamel (Transformers), Jonathan Tucker (Kingdom), and Jeffrey Pierce (Bosch) will be lending their voice to the game. With this game coming out you can say bye bye to Wall running, double jumping, future tech. Something veterans of the game will have to get used too, is that health doesn’t auto-regenerate if you duck behind cover long enough. Instead, you have to limp over to your medic and ask for help. Same goes for ammo – according to developers, if you run out, you’ll have to rely on your squad to toss you more. This game is taking you back to its roots.

Co-Op Campaign Mode

If anyone saw the Livestream then you know that the developers mention a separate Co-Op campaign mode featuring an original story. On Twitter, Sledgehammer also teased Call of Duty: WWII’s Nazi Zombies mode with a single image. In a press release, Activision described it as a co-operative mode that “delivers a unique storyline that’s an all-new take on Nazi Zombies.” I would have been nice if they told us, Is it local co-op? How many players? Does the story follow characters we meet in the SP campaign or new ones? Does it still take place in the same corner of Europe? Today’s focus was the single player campaign but don’t worry more information will be available at E3.

Multiplayer

As for multiplayer Activision revealed the first early details about multiplayer but very little so don’t expect a lot.

Activision did hint at a new mode called War Mode that will let players take part in famous historic World War II battles, with different objectives for each team depending on whether you’re the Allies or the Axis. Instead of character classes, players will now have Divisions. Again, Activision didn’t reveal many specifics but did say Divisions will include infantry and armored options. Between matches, players will hang out in Headquarters, a “robust social space” that sounds similar in concept to the Tower in Destiny. Activision promises “interaction, recognition, and awards unlike anything experienced in the franchise to date.” A private multiplayer beta will also be available for players who preorder Call of Duty: WWII. The beta will launch first on PS4.

You guys will have to be patient until E3 arrives in June to get more details on the game.

Call me Scrooge, but

WWII Call of Duty.....with a zombies mode....haven't seen that before  :-\

It's damn pretty, but I think I lost any and all interest in COD a long time ago. However, when the remaster of MW2 drops, I'll probably get that just for the nostalgia of it. So many memories of late nights and good times.

All the more reason to nope this one. Veteran difficulty has always been controller breakingly infuriating. I can only imagine how many disks Mike would break before actually finishing this game!

It's not going to end well if that health/ammo thing is in PvP.

E3 Update - New Video
Sony's E3 2017 press conference showed a new trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: WWII, showcasing some of the varied environments you'll be fighting in as part of the game's multiplayer mode. Some of the locations listed in the trailer include Normandy, France; the Ardennes Forest, Belgium; and Aachen, Germany. In the video, you'll notice some sections set in the snow, some in a built village, and more. To be honest not a lot of information was shared but Here's a video:

Incoming News - Carentan Bonus Map Coming to Call of Duty: WWII!

Carentan is one of the most iconic and beloved maps in Call of Duty history, having appeared in the original Call of Duty, Call of Duty: United Offensive, and Call of Duty 2. Now, a brand-new version is heading to Call of Duty: WWII. Fight through the destroyed buildings and fortified streets of this war-torn French town in an all-out battle for a strategic German stronghold.

Carentan will be made available at launch as a Bonus Map for all Season Pass holders. The Season Pass for Call of Duty: WWII is already bursting at the seams, but the addition of Carentan puts it over the top.

The map will be available through the season pass when Call of Duty: World War II launches on November 3rd.
