The next set of free games has been revealed. All Xbox 360 titles are yours to keep, while the Xbox One titles can only be played while you have an active Gold membership. All titles are available on Xbox One through the backward compatibility program.

Starting off the Xbox One collection on the 1st will be Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. This game allows up to four friends to control different parts of a spaceship through exploration and combat. Picking up on the 16th is Project CARS. This is a racing simulator like Forza, but not as forgiving.

Explore a neon galaxy in your very own battleship in LOVERS IN A DANGEROUS SPACETIME, a thrilling 1- to 4-player couch co-op adventure. Take control of turrets, lasers, shields and thrusters, using teamwork to triumph over the evil forces of Anti-Love. The 360 starts off with Monkey Island 2: Special Edition on the 1st. This is another remaster from the series which was previously available for free in November. If you liked that one, you’ll probably like the sequel. Next on the 16th, players can get Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. You play as Darth Vader’s apprentice, Starkiller, as he goes on destructive rampages ordered by his master.

More Pirates! More Adventure! More Monkeys! Relive the second hilarious swashbuckling misadventure of the wannabe pirate Guybrush Threepwood as he searches for the lost treasure of Big Whoop, attempts to win back the beautiful Elaine Marley and takes on the now evil zombie pirate, LeChuck! Monkey Island™ 2 Special Edition: LeChuck’s Revenge™ faithfully re-imagines the original classic in signature special edition detail. Plus, interact with the world of Monkey Island™ like never before with new direct-character controls, an interactive object highlight system, behind the scenes art viewer and creator commentary featuring the original developers of Monkey Island™ 2: LeChuck’s Revenge™!

The Star Wars saga continues in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed! Take on the role of Darth Vader’s “Secret Apprentice” in a new chapter of the saga set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Unleash over-the-top Force powers and devastating attack combos on enemies with unique behaviors and reactions every single time you play. Metal bends like metal, wood splinters like wood, and glass shatters like glass as you unleash the Force like never before. Scour the galaxy and defeat Jedi Masters on familiar worlds, including Cloud City, and on strange new worlds, such as the junk planet Raxus Prime. Destroy all who stand in your way in your ultimate quest to do Darth Vader’s bidding. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed allows you to feel the power of the Force like never before in a brand new Star Wars story where your decisions could change the ultimate destiny of the galaxy.

Does anyone have experience with Project Cars? Being a bit of a "Car guy" it piques my interest, but the proof is in the pudding, as they say. What's it like? Are there classics/muscle cars, or is it all imports and high-end modern sports cars? Is there much of a custom element to it (both the car and your character)? Like, how would it compare to, say, Saints Row 3 and 4, or the GTA games? Or do you just have to drive it the way you got it?

No experience personally, but I've been looking into it since it's the only one I'm interested in this round. There are 65 cars with several free and payed packs available. It's a racing sim so it's a range of F1, LMP,  and supercars. As far as customization, there seems to be a lot of tuning choices and that's it.

If you're looking for something like your examples, I highly suggest staying away. This is purpose built on PC to be a realistic simulator with professional driver input to get it as close to real as possible. There's no rewinds and any crash can end your race. Think Forza Motorsport with less options and very little hand holding.

Ah. So if I'm just looking to collect cars and "pimp my ride" I'm better off elsewhere then?

Definitely. You could always try it, but it's not what you're looking for.

Here's some reviews if you want more specifics about the game.

I'll most likely give it a pass, then. I was more or less hoping for something akin to Saints Row but without all the toilet humor and rampant indecency. The gameplay is fun and I can spend hours hunting down specific cars to customize, just not a fan of all the language and not so subtle "innuendo" so I was hoping to find a "cleaner" but still similar experience.
