The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
« on: June 14, 2016, 06:05:59 PM »

If anyone saw the Nintendo Stream you might have noticed that a New Legend of Zelda has been revealed. Link seems to have acquired new abilities which are: Climbing, cooking, swimming, hunting, the ability to chop down trees to create bridges, the ability to push giant boulders down hills, and the ability to set grass on fire using a torch. It’s a bit more realistic and It should make exploring a bit more fun for players. We’ll see environments such as canyons, snowy mountains, deserts, and tropical areas. The game is expected to be 12 times bigger than Twilight Princess. It seems like Link will get to use different weapons like axes and spears. Many players will like a new tool that hangs on Link’s belt, called the Sheikah Slate, uses runes to give Link access to special abilities.

“As you progress in the game, the scale will get even bigger. So there’ll be mountains, really, really high mountains,” says producer Eiji Aonuma. “I think for people, especially the Zelda fans, they have a curiosity to find out what happens in those places where you can’t go, where you’re not supposed to go. So we wanted to create a world where you can further that investigation, you can go further and further and continue to search for places where you can’t go.

I know some of you may have heard a rumor about playing as a female version link.

Aonuma had this to say:

This idea was ultimately rejected, because according to Aonuma “…if we have princess Zelda as the main character who fights, then what is Link going to do? Taking into account that, and also the idea of the balance of the Triforce, we thought it best to come back to this [original] makeup.”

E3 Update: Two DLC Packs Announced
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be getting two content packs this year, and they will only be available as part of the $19.99 Expansion Pass.

DLC Pack #1
The first DLC expansion, The Master Trials, will include several new additions to the base game, including a new “Trial of the Sword” mode, where players will be forced to fight waves of enemies, but without any of their existing equipment that they’ve gathered over the course of their play-through. Completing the trial will power up the Master Sword further, allowing it to deal double damage at all times. It will be available on June 30th.

DLC Pack #2
Nintendo also gave a brief teaser of the second DLC pack for Breath of the Wild, scheduled to release this holiday season. Titled “The Champions’ Ballad”, the expansion will somehow involve the four Champions: Daruk, Mipha, Revali and Urbosa although more details on that are still forthcoming.

In other news New Amiibo figures based on the four Champions are also in the works.
