The Ringed City is the second and final expansion for Dark Souls III following last year’s Ashes of Ariandel. It launches on March 28th on PS4, Xbox One and Steam. The new DLC will be sold individually ($14.99) or as part of the $24.99 season pass, which also includes the previous expansion which is Ashes of Ariandel. The Ringed City will introduce new characters to the game as players traverse the world of Dark Souls 3 in pursuit of the Slave Knight Gael. The Ringed City introduces “ancient beasts” and characters who are “teetering on the edge of insanity. There will also be new armor, weapons and magic to check out along the way to and within the hellish Ringed City.
The official description says the new expansion takes place “at the close of the Age of Fire, as the world ends and all the lands converge upon themselves…” The Ringed City itself is at the edge of the world, “as far as one can go.” “Dark Souls III: The Ringed City brings players toe-to-claw against massive beasts in a twisted descent into the bowels of the end of the world,” Bandai Namco marketing director Jason Enos said in statement. “FromSoftware has crafted visually arresting environments that evoke a sense of destroyed beauty and nail biting encounters that will leave players breathless for more.”
In Europe, Bandai Namco will receive a Game of the Year version of Dark Souls III called The Fire Fades Edition. This comes with the game and its two expansions. It launches on April 21.
