Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Announced

I’m sure many of you were surprised when Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was announced at Sony E3’s conference. Resident Evil 7 will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game will also be compatible with the Playstation VR. The game will be out in January 24, 2017, a demo is available for Playstation Plus Members.

“While Resident Evil 7 draws from the series’ roots of atmospheric survival horror, it also delivers a whole new level of terror,” reads the Capcom blog. “In the classic Resident Evil games of yesteryear, players braced for fear in the first-person via the creepy door-opening scenes, and Resident Evil 7 ramps up that tension with an immersive first-person view and a photorealistic graphical style.”

We see a new trailer but doesn’t really answer any questions, like will resident evil go back to zombies or just B.O.W. (Bio Organic Weapon). Is it possible we’ll be facing a new threat we have not faced before. Another question that comes into mind is who will be the main character/s, will it be leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield or any other character from previous games or will we possibly have a new protagonist.

For those of you wondering if Resident Evil 7 is a reboot or sequel, the answer is it’s a sequel and this is how

Masachika Kawata, the game’s producer, explained it:

“It’s the next title in the numbered series, so obviously it’s part of the Resident Evil universe, and overall canon, so to speak. It’s not a separate thing, but we have intentionally made it so that maybe when you first play it you’ll almost think: how could this possibly be related to the rest of Resident Evil? But it is. It is an extension of the series so far. It’s not a reboot. It’s the next main game.”

I have Disappointing news for those of you who were looking forward to playing with one of the main characters from previous Resident Evil games. and here is why:

“It’s a whole new set of characters and situations,” said Kawata, who has worked on the franchise since 2005’s Resident Evil 4. But he did say, “There could be some interesting surprises in store as well.” So expect there to be some easter eggs in there at least.

Another thing that has been confirmed is the Green Herbs (Health) will be back another thing that was mentioned is what kind of enemy will we be facing?

Nakanishi said:

“One thing I can say is it’s not going to be some kind of zombie horror where you have to mow down zombies. We’re trying take it into a more personal and intimate scale of horror by there being fewer enemies, but each one poses a significant threat. That’s the kind of horror approach we’re going for.”
