This week we have some previews of upcoming changes, new DLC and content drops, a couple of rare features and some free games. There’s also a beta with an exclusive reward for playing. Keep reading to find out more!
|Halo 5 will be getting a patch some time next week to fix some bugs related to Forge mode. Also, the Classic Helmet REQ Pack has been removed from the in-game store, but can still be purchased through the Xbox store in the link.
In other Halo news, studio head Bonnie Ross promised, “Halo fps games will always have split-screen going forward.” Halo 5 was the first of the franchise to not include the feature, so it’s good to see it coming back.
And finally there’s a little treat. Two new skins are coming to the game that will be very rare. Starting now 343 will be handing out the Unicorn “Fire” skin to anyone that has content featured in the community update, or they consider worthy of it. No criteria set in stone basically.
For the Unicorn “Ice” Skin you simply need to play with or against the developers during one of their community playdates. You can see the Ice skin below.
|Halo Wars 2 has been out for most of the week and some of you have probably already given it a try. If you’ve tried the multiplayer then chances are you’ve encountered minor issues or someone quitting instantly for that quick and easy ranking up XP. Rest assured that temporary fixes are already in place with permanent patches rolling through certification as you read this.
For better news, there are some new details on the season pass content. Starting in March, every third Wednesday of the month will have a new content drop. Next month we will be getting a new leader named Kinsano. No details were given, but future campaign missions and unique units are promised to come later on.
|With the recent sandbox changes there were bound to be issues that were unexpected or needed to be changed further. With sidearms taking over Crucible they will be cutting them down a bit by limiting the amount of ammo you can respawn with. Truth will be getting an extra rocket to hold and No Land Beyond is getting some recoil added to counter its current use. And Blink users will be seeing improvements by dialing back the repeated nerfs. Nothing is set in stone yet, but we’ll let you know after they do it.
The Iron Banner will be returning on Tuesday featuring the Supremacy game mode. Players will have the chance to get helmet and leg armor as well as the Hand Cannon and Sniper Rifle. Good luck, Guardians!

As a bit of an incentive to attract keen players to the Beta, Ubisoft will be awarding participants with access to an exclusive mission – the “Unidad Cospiracy” mission, which will see players initiate a war between a local corrupt militia group known as the Unidad, and the Santa Blanca Cartel. The exclusive mission will be available to those who take part in the Beta, so long as they play the full game before March 31st, with the same Ubisoft account. Don’t forget the game is expected to be out on March 7.

For more details on the event check it out in our blog post.|
|There was a very small update to the Xbox system today that you may not have noticed. A few months back the rarity system was added to achievements allowing you to see the percentage of gamers that have unlocked it. Today, it has become more precise to show decimal values. Check your list and see if you’ve got anything exceptionally rare. Post below and let us know!
While achievements are fun, free games are even better. And that means we have the list for March. Xbox One will get Evolve: Ultimate Edition and Layers of Fear, while the 360 gets Borderlands 2 and Heavy Weapon. To see all the details you can read this.

Neo will be running a Halo Game Night. Anyone can jump in, just be sure to register in the joining thread.
For members that don’t know what Community Game Night is, it’s an event that lets various members of the forum (Spartan I Project) play with each other. Aside from that it’s a great way to get to know some of the members in here, and lastly “Make Friends, Blow Stuff Up and Unlock Achievements”. Sometimes it’ll be Destiny, Halo Reach, Halo 5: Guardians or Depending what the host decides. To get a better Idea of what Community Game Nights are, here’s a video of last week’s Game Night:
There’s only a few days left to enter the video contest. Don’t forget to get those clips in!
