SIPWU 7.11.14

The update’s a bit late this week but we still made before Friday was over for the entire world.

We’ve got plenty of news in Destiny and Halo department with Bungie Day and RTX occurring earlier this week. Other news is a bit slim but there’s still some substance to satisfy.

And be sure to check out the Ultimate Games Sale happening on the 360 this week. There are plenty of week long discounts on games and DLC along with some one day sales.

And Destiny fans also get to find hidden treasure in this update. Look hard and you’ll find it. But it you pre-ordered the game already, you might not find it appealing.

Gaming News and Info

Bungie / 343 / Halo

Destiny Bungie Day came earlier this week and Bungie released a bunch of new information about the Destiny Beta and Collector’s Editions of the game. Let’s start with the beta news.

Starting on Thursday, July 10th, 2014 (which by the time you are reading this, was yesterday), you are able to select the platform you want to play the beta on over at Bungie.net. If you have inputted a beta code into Bungie.net, you will receive an email with instructions on how to do this. On Thursday, July 17th, 2014 the Destiny Beta will open for players on the Sony Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 since those players get exclusive time with the beta. On Monday, July 21st through Tuesday, July 22nd, Bungie will take down the beta to perform some maintenance. On Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014, the Destiny Beta will reopen for PS4/PS3 as well as open for the first time for players on the Xbox One and Xbox 360. The Destiny Beta will run until Sunday, July 27th, 2014. Bungie also has a special present if you play. If you login into the beta and play on Saturday, July 26th, you will receive a special emblem in the retail version of the game when it releases in September. If you still do not have a beta code, there is still time to preorder.

(Please note: after you select the platform you are playing the beta on, you will receive your official beta platform code in your email on the day the beta goes live on your platform.)

Bungie also revealed the Destiny Collector’s Editions of the game as well as the Expansion Pass. There will be 2 physical Collector’s Editions and 1 digital Collector’s Edition available for purchase.

Here is the official info from Bungie on each of the Collector’s Editions and Expansion Pass!
