This year, Sony pretty much focused only on the games. There was mention of PlayStation Plus services, such as PlayStation Now’s Beta launching in the UK in the coming months with the rest of Europe to follow as well as PlayStation TV having a price tag of 99 Euros, but the games were still the main focus. Indie games had there fair share of the spotlight. Highlights from the conference are featured below.
|The first gameplay reveal of Bloodborne, a PlayStation exclusive title was revealed at Gamescom. In Bloodborne, you fight off monsters created by an illness as you try to investigate the cause.|
|The platformer where you can create things to share with the community received a new trailer, appropriately titled “Create and Share.” This LittleBigPlanet 3 trailer should be pretty self explanatory.|
|While no news for the new standalone inFAMOUS title was revealed, we got another trailer for First Light which acts as a backstory for Abigail “Fetch” Walker in Second Son.|
|During the Industrial Revolution, technology was moving forward more rapidly. But with Nikola Tesla’s help it moved even faster with new electric weaponry. This new trailer details how Tesla’s helping shape the events of the game in The Order.|
|A new trailer for Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor gives us a brief glimpse into the story of the game. The trailer doesn’t feature any gameplay but does brace us for the game coming out next month. The game will have content exclusive to PlayStation 4 players.|
|It’s time to play tourist. This next trailer takes you to the far off land of Kyrat, a nation in the Himalayas that is deadlier than it may seem. I’ll let your tourguide explain the rest.
A special pre-order bonus was announced for PlayStation 4 players. Pre-ordering gives you 10 Keys to Kyrat which allow you to give 10 of your friends an exclusive 2 hour trial of the game for you to play in co-op, allowing some of your friends who don’t have the game to see what all the buzz is about.
|So here’s an interesting little situation from Gamescom. On the first day Sony revealed a new game called P.T. which was available that day to try on the PS4. We later learned that stood for “Playable Teaser” after the official reveal of Silent Hills was done. Nothing is really known other than Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro will be working together on the project. Check out the teaser below.|
|The long delayed racer had a few details come out from the conference. Once you have a club everyone will be able to contribute to earning rewards. Once it is earned, everyone gets to use the new car. You can see the new trailer below. It will be available October 7th on the PS4.|
|For those of you with a PS Vita, you may be familiar with this game. Tearaway: Unfolded brings the Vita paper world to the big screen designed to use the DualShock 4 controller as best as possible. From using the standard sticks and buttons, to creating several uses for the touch screen, and even using that light on then end of the controller to shine your way through areas. The new PS4 version comes with many new features as well as changes in the storytelling toinclude the new features.|
|Until Dawn was announced at Gamescom for the PS4. The game announced two years back for the PlayStation Move has been redone for the PS4 to attract a larger crowd. The game revolves around eigt friends who have an annual get together in a remote area in the mountains. As you can tell, the situation sets itself up for a horro story where the friends must survive until dawn.|
