Another week, another update.
This week isn’t as lively in the gaming industry but the news we got came in bulk. Hopefully next week is more promising with Gamescom.
SIP was also pretty active with plenty of news about recent events here on the site.

|It has been confirmed that the Xbox One no longer requires a Kinect to be plugged in to function. Originally, the Kinect was meant to be plugged in at all times for the console to function and users would be allowed to manage how the Kinect would function.
All Xbox One consoles will still come with the Kinect sensor.
Microsoft also announced that anybody who purchases a season pass for a game for the Xbox 360 will get the season pass for free on the Xbox One should they choose to purchase the game on both consoles. Games such as Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and potentially Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will offer this.
This system is currently not available for the Playstation 4.
For PC Gamers, the Xbox PC Marketplace is retiring on August 22nd due to the Microsoft Point transition. The Games for Windows Live service will continue for gamers to use but purchasing games and content will be impossible. Anybody who has purchased content from Games for Windows Live will still be able to download any purchased content.
If you’ve been wanting to get a PC game for a while then you better hurry.

|Yesterday Rockstar Games gave us our first detailed look at Grand Theft Auto Online. For those of you haven’t heard, Grand Theft Auto Online is the online multiplayer portion of Grand Theft Auto V, and is apparently so big that it deserves a whole new title.
Rockstar managed to blend multiplayer and single-player together with a persistent open world. You can meet characters, earn money, buy garages and safehouses (where the SIP Crew can do what we do best in the comfort of our own virtual homes), and more.
To show how awesome Grand Theft Auto Online is check out the trailer below.
Grand Theft Auto Online doesn’t go live until October 1st so anybody grabbing the game this September will have to wait a bit before the multiplayer madness begins.
The GTA V website was also updated to include a travelogue for Los Santos and Blaine County.
|On Wednesday, Activision and Infinity Ward revealed Call of Duty Ghosts multiplayer to the world. New game modes like Search & Rescue and Cranked were shown off. The multiplayer maps also feature destructible environments and new pointstreaks.
The new third game mode in the game is called Squads. In Squads, you assemble a team of 6 soldiers. You can control any of these soldiers at any time. Your squad can go into battle against another squad even when you’re not online. Squads also allows you to earn XP and unlocks in multiplayer.
If you need to see all this info in video form, watch the multiplayer reveal trailer below!

Do you suck at Halo or just looking to hone your skills?
If the answer is yes, then you might want to meet MrFish. This crazy guy knows how to play Halo (members who have played against him in SIP tournaments know what I mean) and he’s managed to free up enough time to join the CGN team (of awesomeness) where he’ll be hosting monthly lessons in becoming a better FPS player.
Good luck with your new duty MrFish. For those of you interested in learning a little bit of Halo 4, please sign up for Fish’s first lesson on the 31st (he promises there will be secrets).
While you’re at it, congratulate him on joining the CGN team. It’s only common courtesy. After all, we don’t want anyone’s mother to get offended now do we? *shifty eyes*
The Highwaymen have been busy over the Summer in helping others with the Deja Vu achievement, SIPping tea, and entertaining others. This is especially true to Jim97 who hit his 100th run this week.
For devoting countless of hours in helping gamers unlock achievements (and dealing with Virgil whom never seems to remember his keys), the Communique is thrilled to award Jim with…

Members that were left with empty pockets during SIP’s Action Sack Contest now have another chance to redeem themselves. This new contest is so awesome, that it requires it’s own site.
Darkened Night has put a lot of effort into making SIP’s first ever H4 1v1 tournament (appropriately nicknamed, The Last Man Standing tournament). So how will this contest work?
The Last Man Standing tournament will be a little different than the tournaments we’ve had in the past. All players in this event start out with five (or six if you’re a yearly/lifetime subscriber to the site) lives and will compete to stay alive until one person is left with lives (you lose a match for every game you lose). Matches will be on a weekly bases and participants will be matched against up to three opponents at random.
The winner of this event will receive 400 Microsoft points, plus an additional 400 points for each life they have remaining. 400 point codes will also be awarded to the second place finisher, and another player at random, just for participating.
